A beautiful desert site in Carefree Arizona with great views of foothills to north. The design was an exercise in how to make a relatively small home look much larger than 3,100 s.f. The plan incorporated a long breezeway hall with clerestory windows with sleeping quarters to one side and living areas on the other side. The house uses flat roofs and clay tile sheds and entry and patio. The small openings and thick walls help protect from the harsh Arizona sun.
